Yackandandah-Beechworth

Thank you to all who rang & sent messages. We spent the day touring around the area which is all very picturesque. Our first stop was at Yackandandah where we visited the Historical Museum. This caught my eye -the local women of the area made 108 plum puddings to contribute to the Coronation Celebrations of King George Vll in June 1902. The local celebrations went ahead but the coronation did'nt as the king became ill. It was the only written acknowlegement of all the work the women put into the occasion!!! From here we drove onto Beechworth & thank you David for the tip the pies were scrumptious. It's a gorgeous little town. Heading back to Rutherglen we came across Woolshed Falls just out of the town. Now back at the cabin doing the office work for the day and deciding what to do this evening, probably go down to the pub.
